The Velveteen Rabbit is a warm, welcoming home with a lot of charm. As others have said, it feels like you’re staying at grandma’s house; it’s very homey and personal. That said, it also could use some de-cluttering, particularly in the kitchen and closets. The location is excellent and we had a huge amount of beach space to ourselves in peak season. The furniture was well used but comfortable and we never tired of the views. The kitchen was well stocked in terms of dishes, pots, pans. utensils, etc. We would’ve liked to have known about the availability of the grill and beach equipment. We wasted money renting a grill and missed out on the use of the beach equipment which was frustrating since I called Carolina Retreats and was told they weren’t available, only to find them late in the week. So that wasn’t great, but overall, it was a good experience.
