Island of Lights: Lighting at the Lake

Kick off the holiday season with the official start of the month-long Island of Lights Festival in Carolina & Kure Beaches at the Lighting of the tree and light displays at the lake. Located at the intersection of Atlanta Ave and Lake Park Blvd in Carolina Beach, NC, this event features an official light-up ceremony the day after Thanksgiving. Santa Claus will be present to listen to Christmas wishes, and the event is free to the public, starting at 7:00 p.m. After the ceremony, enjoy a leisurely walk around the lake and admire the myriad light displays sponsored by the Island of Lights Committee.
