CAROLINA BEACH BOARDWALK
Named one of the best boardwalks in the country by USA TODAY, this vintage Boardwalk is a rarity amongst beach communities. During the lively summer season, the Boardwalk becomes a full-on amusement park complete with rides, a sizeable Ferris wheel, weekly fireworks, live music and delicious treats, the Carolina Beach Boardwalk is a must for family vacationers!
OCEAN FRONT PARK
The park's expansive, open-air pavilion is also available for private rental, excluding the months of July and August and major holidays. Get married under the pavilion roof overlooking the beautiful, blue Atlantic Ocean, or host a birthday, anniversary, shower or other event, out from under the "elements" of the sun (or rain) there.
KURE BEACH PIER
Built in 1923, it is one of the oldest fishing piers on the Atlantic. A favorite pastime for fishing enthusiasts and sunset chasers, this family-oriented pier is one of the best experiences you'll have!
CAROLINA BEACH FISHING PIER
The Carolina Beach Fishing Pier has been owned and operated by the local Phelps family for several generations. The pier extends 700' feet out towards the Atlantic Ocean. The wooden pier with long columns and a wide plank walkway offers several benches allowing anglers and sightseers to sit back and relax.
FORT FISHER STATE HISTORIC SITE
With roughly 10% of Fort Fisher still remaining along with a restored palisade fence, this historic site kept North Carolina's port of Wilmington open to blockade runners supplying necessary goods to Confederate armies inland. Offering tours of the grounds, this recently renovated facility contains an audiovisual program that presents the history of the fort. New exhibits are currently being designed for the visitor center. The North Carolina Underwater Archaeology headquarters is also located on the property.
COQUINA OUTCROP
The coquina outcrop near Fort Fisher is the only naturally occurring rocky formation in North Carolina. Also known as The Rocky Outcrop, this is a fascinating and rare natural wonder.
NORTH CAROLINA AQUARIUM AT FORT FISHER
An unforgettable and educational experience, learn about the local marine life as well as the conservation efforts and how we can all contribute to healthy sea life. Feel the smooth skin of a gliding stingray. Climb along Adventure Reef. Talk with a diver swimming the depths with eels and sharks. Look an albino alligator in the eye. Wonder at baby sea turtles.

CAROLINA BEACH STATE PARK
With a marina providing access to some of North Carolina's best fishing spots, a secluded camping area beneath towering trees, and miles of hiking trails that traverse a variety of distinct habitats—not to mention the presence of the Venus flytrap, one of the world's most unique carnivorous plants—it's no wonder Carolina Beach State Park is a popular coastal attraction. Located in an area steeped in both history and natural diversity, the park includes a visitor's center with exhibits depicting the wonders of its environment.
FORT FISHER FERRY
Take a quick ferry trip over to historic Southerport, NC! The ride is enjoyable with unique and beautiful views along the Cape Fear River, perfect for a scenic cruise and for a day trip to Southport and back again. You can even bring your car onto the ferry!
FREEMAN PARK
This popular seaside park for tent camping & bonfires, plus fishing, swimming & boating. Residents and visitors have long enjoyed the beach area now known as Freeman Park. In fact, the area has become one of Carolina Beach's major attractions. Whether coming to the area to swim, camp, fish, or go boating, crabbing or casting for minnows, people love Freeman Park. Visitors are drawn to the beautiful beach with its variety of wildlife, dunes and majestic sea grasses indigenous to the region.
